AC Tips

Here are some simple and free tips to help keep your home nice and cool.

  • Test your air conditioner now.  This will allow us to trouble shoot any issues now and before the real hot weather begins.
  • Change your air filter. A clogged air filter forces you’re A/C to work harder to pull air through the system; this requires more energy and lowers your central air conditioner’s efficiency. We can take care of this for you, easily.  Just submit your service request , It’s that easy!
  • Keep windows closed when it’s hotter outside than inside. Opening the window on a breezy warm day may make you feel like you’re cooling off your house, but it’s an illusion. In fact, while the breeze feels nice, you’re actually letting loads of hotter air into your home.
  • Keep curtains and blinds closed in the heat of the day. When direct sun hits the windows in your home, keeping your curtains or blinds closed can keep some of the heat from warming the inside of your home.
  • When you know there’s a hot day coming, set you’re A/C at a medium temperature around 78 or 77 degrees in the morning before you leave for work.  This way it will keep your apartment cooler as the outside temp rises, and you won’t have start trying to cool your apartment from a 90 degree day!
  • Avoid using your oven, range top, or the dishwasher’s heat dry in the hottest hours of the day. Using these appliances will add additional warm air to your home, causing your air conditioner to have to work harder.
  • You can redirect cool air by closing vents in rooms that are not being used. For example, during the day close the vents in the bedrooms to direct the cool air into the living room, and at night close the vent in the living room to direct the air into the bedroom.

Enjoy your sunny Southern California Summer!
